Research Interviews
We are no longer actively recruiting participants. You can still get involved by subscribing to our newsletter and keeping an eye out for future events.

We interviewed more than 50 couples with one UK partner (citizen or settled resident) and one partner from the EU, EEA or Switzerland who would need a visa to settle in the UK, sharing their experiences of the post-Brexit immigration system. The couples we have interviewed were at any stage of the process – considering whether to apply; working on your application; having your visa decision; or in the process of settlement. But we also heard from couples who are unable to apply, had a visa in the UK rejected, or have decided against moving to the UK because of the post-Brexit immigration requirements.
The couples’ participation is helping us to understand the impact of the immigration rules on UK/EU couples after Brexit and contribute to public, policy and legislative debate in this area.
See our News and Publication pages for the latest updates. You can also find our first project interim report (December 2024) here.
